IATA adopt Multi-Lateral Agreement for e-AWB
|
At the recent IATA Cargo Services Conference, held in Doha, IATA have agreed to adopt a new Resolution approving the use of the Multilateral e-AWB Agreement. The new Resolution 672 provides a single, standard, industry agreement that airlines and freight forwarders can sign once with IATA and in effect enter into e-AWB Agreements with all participating parties, eliminating the need for signing hundreds of bilateral e-AWB agreements. Attached please find the Finally Adopted Resolution (FAR) memorandum for the new IATA Resolution 672 "Form of Multilateral e-AWB Agreement" which was adopted by the 35th Cargo Services Conference (CSC/35) in Doha on 10 March 2013 for expedited effectiveness. Please click here for the related document. For more information on Resolution 672, please visit www.iata.org/eawb The filing period for Resolution 672 will run from 15 March 2013 to 14 April 2013, with an intended effective date of 15 April 2013. The final date will be communicated to IATA airline members as soon as all required government approvals have been obtained. This is a positive step forward and AFIF representatives have been working with our global freight forwarder body FIATA together with IATA to help bring this to fruition. We will further advise members when this is operational.
Thank you and regards,
